Árpád-house Saint Margaret Medallion

Not every piece of jewelry is born from a trend. Some are born from a calling.
A jeweler reached out to me with a request to design an Árpád-house Saint Margaret medallion. He told me he had traveled across Europe, searching, and never found a medallion that portrayed Saint Margaret in a way that felt worthy of her. As a man of deep faith, he had long wished for a piece he could not only wear, but one that carried real spiritual substance.
That is how this collaboration began.
After a few conversations and a handful of sketches, we quickly found a direction that felt both historically authentic and contemporary. We wanted to create a medallion that honors the past with reverence, while still speaking to someone living today.
Every detail in the design carries meaning.
Saint Margaret's veil represents humility and a life consecrated to God. Her hands, folded in prayer, evoke deep faith and constant devotion. On the reverse, a blooming lily stands as the ancient symbol of purity, innocence, and faithfulness to Christ. Around it runs her personal motto, "To love God, to despise myself." A few words that hold the entire meaning of her life.
That is why, to me, this medallion is more than jewelry.
Whoever wears it carries more than a piece of precious metal. They carry a profession of faith. A quiet reminder. A silent prayer that stays with them through the day.
What made this project especially meaningful was the full trust I was given throughout the design process. It let me do more than fulfill a commission. It let me bring my own thinking, my own visual language, my own hand into the piece. There is little greater recognition for a designer than when a client trusts not only your skill, but your vision.
I believe the best work always comes from collaboration. When a client's vision meets a designer's creativity, something greater than an object takes shape.

Nem minden ékszer egy trendből születik. Van, amelyik egy küldetésből.
Egy ékszerész keresett meg azzal, hogy tervezzek számára egy Árpád-házi Szent Margit medált.
Elmesélte, hogy Európa számos országát bejárta, mégsem talált olyan medált, amely méltó módon ábrázolta volna Szent Margitot. Vallásos emberként régóta vágyott egy olyan ékszerre, amit nemcsak viselhet, hanem amely valódi lelki tartalmat is hordoz.
Így született meg ez a közös projekt.
Néhány beszélgetés és néhány vázlat után gyorsan megtaláltuk azt az irányt, amely egyszerre volt történelmileg hiteles és kortárs. Egy olyan medált szerettünk volna létrehozni, amely tisztelettel fordul a múlt felé, mégis a jelen emberéhez szól.
A tervezés során minden részletnek jelentése lett.
Szent Margit fátyla az alázatot és az Istennek szentelt életet jelképezi. Az imára kulcsolt kezek az elmélyült hitet és a folyamatos imádságot idézik. A hátoldalon nyíló liliom a tisztaság, az ártatlanság és a Krisztus iránti hűség ősi szimbóluma. Körülötte pedig Szent Margit jelmondata olvasható: „Istent szeretni, magamat megvetni.” Ez a néhány szó egész életének lényegét foglalja össze.
Ezért ez a medál számomra nem csupán egy ékszer.
Aki viseli, nem csak egy nemesfémből készült tárgyat hord magán, hanem egy hitvallást. Egy emlékeztetőt. Egy csendes imát, amely elkíséri a mindennapokban.
Külön öröm volt számomra, hogy teljes bizalmat kaptam a tervezés során. Így nemcsak egy megrendelést teljesíthettem, hanem a saját gondolataimat, formavilágomat és kézjegyemet is belevihettem az ékszerbe. Kevés nagyobb elismerés létezik egy tervező számára, mint amikor a megrendelő nemcsak a szakmai tudásában, hanem a látásmódjában is megbízik.
Hiszem, hogy a legjobb alkotások mindig közös munkából születnek. Amikor a megrendelő víziója és a tervező kreativitása találkozik, abból valami több lesz, mint egy tárgy.
Egy történet.
Egy hitvallás.
Egy ima, nemesfémbe öntve.
